Founder and CEO
Julie Jones is a distinguished leader in the field of open-source intelligence, serving as the founder and CEO of The Canadian Centre for Open-Source Intelligence. A former police detective with nearly 30 years of experience in investigations and cybercrime, Julie expertly navigates the complexities of modern threats.
Her expertise spans critical issues, including human trafficking, online exploitation, and digital security. Julie is passionate about leveraging open-source intelligence to empower organizations and individuals in safeguarding against cyber threats. As a sought-after consultant and trainer, she has delivered innovative programs globally, equipping law enforcement agencies, government bodies, NGOs, and corporations with the skills necessary to combat emerging challenges.
In recognition of her exceptional service and contributions, Julie was honored with the Hal Lipset Truth in Action Award by the World Association of Detectives in 2023. This award celebrates individuals who exhibit the highest standards of conduct and service through their specific deeds and accomplishments.
A recognized thought leader, Julie continues to contribute to the field through her writings and speaking engagements, solidifying her reputation as an authority on digital investigations and intelligence.

Senior OSINT Intelligence Analyst
Julianna Mitchell is an accomplished expert in open-source intelligence (OSINT) investigations, with a strong educational background that includes an MA in Criminology from Simon Fraser University. Known for her sharp analytical mind and exceptional writing skills, Julianna excels at transforming vast amounts of publicly available data into actionable insights. Her professional background includes roles in government, where she contributed to critical public safety initiatives, as well as in the private sector, where she developed and managed intelligence-informed security programs for a diverse range of companies. Additionally, she has extensive experience conducting intelligence operations for large-scale events, further solidifying her as an invaluable asset in security risk management.
When not conducting investigations, you can find her buried in a fantasy novel, traveling, or being bossed around by her mini dachshund.

Amelia Dangerfield BA, MA
Senior Threat Consultant
Amelia is a Senior Threat Consultant providing risk intelligence and analysis, criminal statistical analysis, and real-time OSINT support to physical security deployment.
Amelia specializes in countering violent extremism, particularly preventing online radicalization and alt-right terrorism. She has engaged with extremists across ideologies, among them incels, Neo-Nazis, anarchists, jihadists, and white supremacists. Amelia has participated in DHS, NATO, and DOD-funded countering-violent extremism projects at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, as well as an NIJ-funded program to reduce recidivism among released violent extremists. She has a bachelor’s degree from McGill University in International Development and a master’s degree from Boston University in National Security, where she conducted extensive research on the role of humiliation in driving incel terrorism.
Amelia is also passionate about supporting survivors of violent conflict and currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Vancouver Association for Survivors of Torture.
